About MattUhrich.com | MattUhrich.com

Welcome to MattUhrich.com…

This site is nothing more than a place for me to display some of the photos I have taken, share some things I’ve learned, and express myself a bit. Hopefully, as a result, I will improve both my photography and writing skills.

Most of the content here will be part of Matt 365. I figure that’s a good way to get a lot of practice taking pictures and trick myself into developing some creativity. If you want to see only the pictures without all the boring extra chatter, take a look at the Matt 365 flickr set.

My day job is working as an application developer, mostly web-based intranet applications, with a lot of database interaction. When I’m not serving time, I’m a husband, a dad, an amateur photographer, and someone with way too many hobbies.

This site was designed for Firefox and other browsers that behave. I’ve tried to make it look presentable in crap browsers like IE6. I haven’t put too much effort into it because I don’t feel like supporting mediocrity.

My Gear:

Cameras
Canon Digital Rebel XTi
This is my main camera. I only recently bought it, so I’m still learning how all of its functions work. I give it the highest possible rating on all scales. I think I’ll write a review on it after I’ve used it for a while.

Canon PowerShot A95
This is the camera I’ve been using for the last two and a half years. And now it is the camera I keep with me at all time for when the XTi is too bulky. It’s pretty good for a point-and-shoot. My main complaint is that the flash is far too bright in most cases. It’s also larger than I would like for how I use it.

Glass
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 Mark I
Tamron AF28-200mm f/3.8-5.6
