One more family Christmas gathering and a drive back to Pennsylvania. This is the radio I mentioned yesterday, the Tivoli Audio M1CLA Henry Kloss Model One AM / FM Table Radio, Classic / Walnut
.
Philippians 2:14-16
14Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.
NKJV
Christmas Day. More nice gifts for Gabe. I also got some very cool things like Tivoli Audio M1CLA Henry Kloss Model One AM / FM Table Radio, Classic / Walnut
and a Remote Dust Collector Switch for my wood shop.
We visited Kari’s grandparents’ house and I saw this creepy looking bird house. Her grandfather said the birds seem to avoid it.
Philippians 2:5-11
5Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
NKJV
We drove to New Jersey. With laws restricting hunting and being more densely populated than Japan, there are far more deer in New Jersey than is useful. You don’t go six hours without seeing deer along the road somewhere. That’s a lot of deer jerky going uneaten.
Philippians 1:21
21For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
NKJV
After church, there is usually a traffic-jam getting out of the parking lot. Today it was accompanied by lots of fog. This picture isn’t very good at capturing the scene because I only had my point-and-shoot and it focused on the windshield. My wife hates it when I take pictures while driving.
We’ll be heading to New Jersey for Christmas tomorrow.
Malachi 4:5-6
5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
6And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.
NKJV
We had our Christmas celebration with my parents today. It’s my son’s first Christmas and we got a taste of what present-getting events are going to be like. Storage may become a problem.
Some of the gifts included books like Guido’s Gondola and Plan Toys like Tower Pounding and the painfully named Hammer Balls.
I got some nice things, myself. I am especially looking forward to reading Understanding Exposure. I will post a review when I’m done.
Ephesians 6:13-17
13Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, 15and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; 16 in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
